Description

In Cree culture, the butterfly is a sacred symbol of transformation, growth, and our deep connection to nature. I designed this butterfly piece to honour my daughter, whose Indian name means “She Dances with the Butterflies.” Her name reflects her graceful spirit and her ability to move through life’s changes with strength and beauty. The two butterflies represent both her and her mother, while the surrounding flowers symbolize Mother Earth — a reminder of the sacred bond between all mothers and the land.

This design was also inspired by my years of experience carving Pacific Northwest Coast artwork. The flowing lines and balanced composition reflect the influence of that style, blended with the storytelling traditions of my Cree roots.

Each piece is originally hand-carved in silver and then cast in sterling silver, preserving every fine detail of the original design. The earring hooks are also crafted from sterling silver for quality and comfort. On the back of each piece, you’ll find its title engraved alongside my signature and the 925 hallmark — a mark of authenticity and personal connection.
