Métis Fire bags or sacs à feu were very common during the fur trade era. They were used by the Voyageur, the Métis and the First Nations / Indigenous Americans. They were mostly used to hold pipe, tobacco, flint and steel. These bags were made popular by the Métis and then spread all over North America.
Very versatile bag that is a beautiful example of Métis tradition and culture.
